One of the first places to start when playing The "Is It Healthy?" Game, is what would your life be like such that your lifestyle supported optimal health? How would our cities and neighborhoods be organized to support optimal health?
What would our children be watching on TV that ensured they understood the high social value placed on health. (Unlike the Perversion that has whole, fresh, and lively foods equated with food shame. I'm not kidding.
The kids with their lunch plan paid in full were able to buy pizza, fries and junk. The kids that weren't up to date, were "humiliated" into eating a government mandated menu that includes fresh fruits and veggies.
We've got some powerful health games to create. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be very much agreement around what "health" means anymore. If kids prefer carrot sticks in a McDonald's box, why isn't McDonald's selling carrot sticks?
The AICR offers several tips for sensible Labor Day Festivities. The bottom line, pay attention. Having your "Is It Healthy? Game, include a bit of planning and some socializing, could pay huge dividends. Especially when conversations that begin with "how are you?", get an authentic reply. Doing so grants them permission to do the same. Be willing to listen and play.
