McDonald's "Take Back Snack Time" Viral Launch
In a story from DM News, McDonald's has launched a new site to "speak to our customers in ways that are relevant to them," according to Marta Fearon, Mikey D's US Marketing Director.
The site targets office workers and encourages them to invite others for a snack by having their avatar ping them with a personalized message like, "because you work so hard". How about the real message here, "come on down and listen to your arteries slam shut you fat idiot."
It's not enough to encourage folks to "sneak out of the office and get a snack," but in case we've forgotten, obesity has been declared a global threat. The World Health Organization estimates more than 1 billion adults are overweight and 300 million of them are obese.
So next time you get that sancking jones remember, nobody is going to care about your health any more than you do. So caveat emptor. (Buyer Beware).
