Smoking Cessation Drugs May Cause Erratic Behavior Suicidal Thoughts
According to the Wall Street Journal, 44% of all cigarettes in the U.S. are smoked by people diagnosed with mental disorders. These include schizophrenia and alcoholism. Smokers may be smoking to "self medicate" and using some of the newer cessation drugs may be causing problems. Smokers with psychiatric illnesses were not included in the premarketing trials for Chantix.
