The Health Insurance Mafia
In his op ed piece in the Wall Street Journal, Johanathan Kellerman, professor of pediatrics and psychology at USC's Keck School of Medicine, he describes how our current model of "health care" is similar to a protection racket.
As long as we have a system organized around avoiding health care, we don't have a system designed to have "health" occur. As our focus is on the conditions and circumstances we find our selves in, the lives of our families, the productivity of our companies, and the services of our our organizations are in response to more "fix, change or survive" conversations.
Looking into the possibility of actually being healthy puts our collective focus on the actual result we're after. That's an inquiry that gets me excited.
