72% Of Physicians And 89% Of Nurses Use Nutritional Supplements

According to a Healthcare Professionals (HCP) Impact Study, more than three quarters of U.S. physicians (79 percent) and nurses (82 percent) also recommend dietary supplements to their patients.

The interesting thing to note is that healthcare professionals who don't use nutritional supplements still recommend them to their patients.

It would seem after so many years of skepticism, ridicule and outright rejection by the established medical community, that we're finally acknowledging our dependence on good nutrition for our health.

Who Recommends Supplements? Of the 72 percent of physicians who use supplements, 85 percent also recommend them to their patients; and of the 28 percent of physicians who do not use supplements, three out of five
(62 percent) still recommend them.

There is no downside to proper nutrition. We've all witnessed an onslaught of ads asking us to call toll free to consult with a “doctor” to see if “Brand X Magic Pill" is right for you. Everybody wants one. Me too.

Consumers still report finding the information about vitamins confusing (50% of them as far back as 2000) according to Mintel International. Words like "natural", "nutraceutical", "functional foods" have been so co opted by main stream advertising, consumers are left wandering in a wilderness of overwhelm and confusion.

What's a consumer to do? Well one thing we'd highly recommend, is playing the "Is It Healthy?" Game. Nothing like having a game where everyone wins just by playing.
